Poverty, war, corruption and disease have been named as some of the culprits to blame for Africa’s ailments. Over the years Africa Revolution has come to see that, when these very real and very serious issues are examined, one consistent factor seems to rise to the surface every time; Leadership! A lack of good leadership to be precise.

Africa has suffered from a failure of leadership for decade after decade. If the continent is to escape this cycle of hopelessness she desperately needs a new and different generation of leaders. Not just leaders but SERVANT LEADERS. Africa does not need more self-serving, self-aggrandizing leaders. Africa needs young leaders whom have a heart and mind to serve the people. Leaders able to plot a path forward out of this mess we are in and into a better tomorrow; where generations to come are able to not just survive, but thrive and prevail.

“We need leaders not in love with money but in love with justice. Not in love with publicity but in love with humanity. Leaders who can subject their particular egos to the pressing urgencies of the great cause of freedom…a time like this demands great leaders.”  – Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

The greatest resource in Africa is not its abundant minerals, but its human resource; especially in the growing youth population.  50% of the African continent is under the age of 19! There is a problematic lack of investment into the development of this growing youth population. Africa’s population is projected to double by 2050 to two billion people. This is an opportunity for God’s people to invest in this next generation. Let us together come alongside these young leaders. Let us train them up, mentor and guide them to be effective servant leaders and role models in every sphere of society where God calls them to lead.

“We have seen the creativity, the energy and ambitions of young Africans. Africa’s youth are its single greatest resource and they are a force for good.”
-Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield

U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs

Salt & Light is a gathering of passionate, young African leaders coming together to be empowered, equipped and encouraged to do the work of discipleship and compassion in their community and throughout the world.

We want to see African communities transformed through young leaders. Rather than focusing our energies into specific services, we want to multiply these efforts by training up servant leaders, empowering them to meet needs in their own communities, all with gospel values. Gospel centered African Christians, living holistic biblical lifestyles, and leading others in compassion and discipleship work. Being salt and light.

The 2-day conference is targeted at young Africans with a track record of service and a desire to grow.
The conference will have a diverse faculty whom can speak practically, clearly and honestly from experience in the trenches of life and mission. Attendees will have opportunities to interact, network and practically have a hands-on chance to serve in a community during the conference! The goal is to impart as much good Biblical DNA into these young leaders as we can. Africa Revolution will continue to walk with attendees after the conference, developing and nurturing a strong network to provide resources, discuss best practices, and make available our Vision Year discipleship program to these conference alumni.
